Our Origins
The Memphis Police Foundation was established in May 2008 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Its mission was to provide private-sector support to the Memphis Police Department and help build an innovative, technologically advanced police force fully engaged with the community it serves.
From the beginning, the Foundation brought together board members from diverse professional backgrounds—including finance, research, marketing, public relations, fundraising, and development—who leveraged their expertise to strengthen philanthropic support for law enforcement, especially during times of budget constraints.
Expansion of Support
In August 2011, the board voted to rename the organization the Memphis/Shelby County Law Enforcement Foundation, expanding its mission to support law enforcement agencies across the Memphis and Shelby County area. Today, the Foundation proudly serves:
- Memphis Police Department
- Shelby County Sheriff’s Department
- Bartlett Police Department
- Collierville Police Department
- Germantown Police Department
- Millington Police Department
Our Commitment
The Foundation remains dedicated to providing financial assistance, resources, and community support to law enforcement officers who work tirelessly to keep our neighborhoods safe. We are deeply grateful to all who have supported our mission and encourage continued contributions that make a real difference in public safety.
