In August of 2011, the board of the Memphis Police Foundation decided to expand their efforts to make Memphis a safer city.  They voted to rename the foundation to the Memphis/Shelby County Law Enforcement Foundation thus expanding their support for all law enforcement in the Memphis/Shelby County area.  This includes the Memphis Police Department, Shelby County Sheriff’s Department, Millington Police Department, Bartlett Police Department, Germantown Police Department and Collierville Police Department.  By expanding their efforts, the board felt a strong desire to make financial assistance available to existing agencies within Shelby County during times of tight budget constraints.

The board members wish to thank everyone that has supported the foundation in the past and would like to encourage everyone to support the change with future contributions.  You may do so by mailing your donation to the: Memphis/Shelby County Law Enforcement Foundation, 530 Oak Court Dr, Suite 165, Memphis, TN  38117 or by going to the Contribute Page to make a donation through PayPal.

The latest projects that the foundation is supporting are on-going camera projects to make Shelby Farms & Agricenter the safest family locations possible.  The foundation is working with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department, the Shelby Farms Conservancy and Agricenter Management to install cameras throughout the respective areas.  These cameras will stream live video to the Sheriff’s Department and into patrol vehicles.  Parking lots and trail systems will enjoy the security that comes with the projects.  Your donations will go a long way in making these areas safer for all citizens that enjoy the outdoors.
